About The Role

Vehicle Repair Data Technician | Circa £32,000 negotiable + excellent benefits | Permanent | Hybrid
 

Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with a passion for data? Do you have experience working in the Automotive industry? If so, we have the perfect the role for you!

We are currently seeking a Vehicle Repair Data Technician to join our evolving team at Thatcham Research. As part of the Vehicle Data Management team, you would be responsible for accurately identifying and translating OEM vehicle parts and methods information into our Thatcham databases. This role will be key in delivering vehicle data and information which supports Repair and Insurability to internal and external stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and deliver vehicle repairability projects, ensuring data aligns with organisational standards.
  • Acquire, produce, and maintain vehicle parts and vehicle repair methods data sets accurately and in line with organisational standards.
  • For any assigned projects, research and collate technical vehicle data from various internal and external sources, understanding the variances of different vehicles in a model range.
  • Respond to external repair customer vehicle data enquiries professionally and efficiently, ensuring compliance with SLA’s.

Skills & experience that will set you up for success in this role:

  • Existing knowledge and understanding of vehicle anatomy, components and systems.
  • Experience working within the Automotive Industry and/or in a similar role working with vehicle data.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft 365 applications (specifically Excel, Outlook and Teams).
  • Ability and willingness to continually develop learning of new systems and reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks/projects at the same time.
  • Recognised motor industry qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, ATA or equivalent) would be advantageous.

About you:

As an analytical problem solver, you have a strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively communicate technical vehicular data to internal and external stakeholders. Your autonomy and adaptability enable you to work well within a team environment and independently, whilst effectively managing a variety of projects/tasks at any one time.

When we work

Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 15:45 Fridays (talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you!)
