About The Role

Due to commercial growth, we are expanding our digital team and recruiting for a Technical Delivery Manager. As the Technical Delivery Manager, you will offer leadership to a diverse and multi-disciplined team, supporting the efficient delivery of our market leading products and services.

Our products make a difference. From providing our motor insurer members with vital research into how emerging technology may impact vehicle risk, to supplying our repair customers with products that provide access to the safest and most efficient vehicle repair methods, we play an influential role in shaping the future of vehicle safety, security and repair.

To make this role a success, you will have a good understanding of Cloud (AWS) deployment, along with the technologies used in providing web-based applications. Most importantly, you will be a collaborator, with the ability to understand, motivate and support those you work with.

As the Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Facilitating software changes, upgrades and new systems to meet product requirements
  • Operational management of multi-disciplined teams, including an in-house development team, specifically focused on coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team members
  • Supporting the team deliver value against the product vision via a variety of agile and lean tools and techniques
  • Overseeing the delivery stages of new and updated products drawing on both in-house and outsourced software development teams
  • Utilising agile tools and techniques to drive the team in delivering value against the product vision

As the Delivery Manager, your skills and experience will include:

  • Demonstrable technical background, specifically delivering web-based applications built in Java and associated technologies (HTML, CSS, JSON, Bootstrap, AngularJS, Spring. Maven, Jenkins, etc)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD delivery and Cloud hosting.
  • Excellent understanding of database technologies and data warehousing techniques
  • Business Analysis skills and experience
  • Experience delivering software and systems across the full software lifecycle using agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe
  • Experience with both manual and automated tooling to support rapid development and delivery of software
  • Experience using Jira to manage delivery

Location: Thatcham, Berkshire with the option to work remotely circa 2 days a week. 

Working Hours: This is a full-time position working 36.75 hours a week.

Our core business hours are 8.30 - 16.30 Monday - Thursday and 8.30 - 15.45 Fridays. All applicants must be available to work 36.75 hours per week however, we are pleased to offer flexibility where possible to those seeking alterations to our core business hours.

Salary: Circa £52,400 dependent on skills & experience, plus competitive benefits package which includes a 10% non-contributory pension, sick pay, competitive annual leave increasing with length of service, TechScheme Vouchers, plus more!
