About The Role

The products we deliver make a difference. Be it providing our insurer members with research into how an emerging piece of new vehicle technology may reduce accidents or, providing our repair customers with information on how to safely repair the vehicles of tomorrow, as a Product Owner you’ll be at the heart of making this happen. Join us as a Product Owner and you’ll be helping to save lives, not just delivering another product for commercial gain.

As a Product Owner you’ll be involved in all aspects of product development. From brainstorming the next great idea and helping our insurer members measure vehicle technology risk, to working directly with our developers and sysop engineers to release new features. You’ll be expected to push the boundaries of what’s possible, while sharing our healthy obsession for product, quality, and attention to detail.

The new role of Product Owner will support an established team of Product Managers who work closely with our customers to understand their evolving needs. Quickly becoming an integral member of the team, the Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring that through timely iterative value releases, our product roadmaps are delivered.

We realise that quite often, the ‘perfect candidate’ just doesn’t exist. So, if you can do most of what we are looking for and we have captivated your interest, we welcome your application. You could have exactly what it takes to make this role a success!

As a Product Owner, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Capturing and converting requirements into a product backlog to inform a controlled stream of product developments
  • Working closely with development and QA teams to ensure the product roadmap is executed and that the correct product changes are properly scoped and delivered to the required quality standards
  • Breaking deliverables into smaller chunks and iterating through delivery, releasing early and often
  • Writing user stories and acceptance criteria

As a Product Owner, your skills and experience will include:

  • Experience in a similar role working on software and/or data products
  • Ability to adopt an Agile approach
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) qualified (desirable), applicants without this qualification will be provided the opportunity to become CSPO qualified should their application be successful
  • Automotive and/or insurance risk-based product experience advantageous but not essential

About you:

You will have excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand and present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. You have the ability to work autonomously but also enjoy collaboration and innovation amongst teams. You have excellent data and analytical skills that you enjoy applying to your work. Your resilient attitude encourages your desire to succeed, and you persist until a task is complete. You keep up with the pace of rapid change, learn fast and adapt to new conditions quickly and effectively.

As an organisation that believes a strong set of Values are key to our organisational success and a sense of belonging for all colleagues, we ask that you understand, represent and apply our Values of fearless, inquisitive, resourceful, supportive and trusted and demonstrate these Values throughout the recruitment and selection process.
