Thatcham Research is seeking a Global Market Analyst to join our Product team. This is a pivotal role where your analysis will directly influence product development, commercial strategy, and executive decision-making across the automotive, insurance, and repair sectors. What you’ll be doing
- Deliver high-quality market analysis across national and international regions.
- Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in insurance, automotive, and repair markets.
- Support strategic planning and investment decisions with data-driven insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track market dynamics.
- Lead comprehensive market research projects using relevant methodologies.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to create impactful content.
- Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking for senior stakeholders.
Who you’ll work with
- Internal teams including Product, Commercial, Finance, and Marketing.
- Senior stakeholders such as Heads of Verticals and the Thatcham Management Board.
- External partners including industry analysts, data providers, and customers.
What you’ll bring

- Solid experience as a market analyst or researcher.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Experience with market research methodologies.
- Proficiency in data visualisation and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder management and project coordination.
Desirable skills: (We welcome applications from candidates that do not match these skills)
- Experience with international markets.
- Familiarity with economic indicators and forecasting models.
- Knowledge of the automotive, motor insurance, or vehicle repair industries.
- Membership/certification in market research or analytics.

When we work
Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, early finish on Friday - 8:30 - 15:45 (Talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you – we take work-life balance seriously!)
How we work
We understand the benefits of remote and in-person collaboration, and therefore have a hybrid working model – you’ll be expected to work from our office in Thatcham at least two days per week.

At the cutting edge of automotive research in the UK, Thatcham Research has a unique role in shaping the design of new vehicles and influencing ever higher standards of safety, security and repair. With an on-site Crash Laboratory, Repair Technology Centre and Training Academy, our research expertise is driving some of the very latest automotive developments in technology, materials and standards in this fast moving and highly technical industry.
Our active safety track site is one of the leading accredited Euro NCAP testing facilities, trialling and assessing the very latest developments in vehicle safety and assistance technologies.
